Need to get a bluetooth GPS unit for use with my Ipaq 1940. I'm after something cheap but obvisouly must still work well.
Can you reccomend me a unit and cheapest supplier please?

Thanks for the info.

Had a look into it and looks like quite an old piece of kit and could get a Tom Tom one from ebay for cheaper.

Is 'old' bad then? If so, i'm finished even though I still work pretty well.

Indeed, the Emtac is one of the most solid and reliable receivers you can get.

DeLorme are selling their Blue Logger receiver for USD 150...including the street atlas software I think

Just thought the newer ones might have more features for the same money.

Tbh, what features is there for a BT GPS receiver to have? If it can connect via BT and track your position what more do you want it to do ;)

I got concerns about battery life and performance. I've read about certain batteries failing very early etc or are they just the occasional bad eggs?

In most cases it is not the battery failing. It's the GPS reception circuitry that is still a little immature.

Batteries last at least 500 cycles which roughly translates into two years usage. I think that's fair.

What do you guys think of the GlobalSat BT308, I know it got a good review on the site. But wanted to know opinions from people using this on a regular basis for a while.
