Aplogies if in wrong place, but I need some advice re Y cables, I was ouzzled why GPS system lost sats, appraently at randon, I now can replicate the issue with two different PDAs Loox and IPAQ 2210 and two different GPS, both wiired, Globalsat and Haicom.
When the PDA is being charged by Y cable it gets to full state and then seems to cut off the power, which is fine except the wired GPS also loses power so no signal ! Only nticeable on a jouney around 2-3 hrs, but of coyurse then loses track just when you arrive in a strange town, unplug tyhe system and after 10 mins back it comes when replugged, but needs little chrage so 30 mins or less then down again no sats or tracking.
Anyone had the same problem, two different Y cables from different sources, I have ordered a Seidio powered mount I hope that might circuvent the issue, any other suggestions

Wohoo. Sound like your PDA is really picky... This is definitely not normal behaviour. The Y cable is supposed to provide power to the receiver and the PDA independently, not daisy chained. Maybe you can ring through the wires of the y cable to confirm that? _________________ Lutz
