hello i have a ipaq 3600 and a garmin gps2 i have a CF jacket so i am thinking on making a car gps unit so some quick questions

1- what would be the best software to add to this combination,i would prefer voice and 3D

2- as the garmin is a older unit are they fairly reliable?

3-as for out of vehicle use ,the battery in my ipaq is pretty duff ,so would i be better buying a dual cf and battery jacket and taking the CF GPS route?

cost is my biggest issue

Look for PrymeNav as a cheap software that is reasonably user friendly.

See if you can get a PC-Card Jacket and a PC-Card to CF adapter so you can run the CF card there. This jacket comes with its own battery.

You can also replace the battery in your iPAQ. Batteries are about 20GBP.

The Garmin should work just fine. You will need a special serial cable to connect it to the iPAQ.
