|
|
Ive tried the Seidio kit (ipaq not at all snug), and the TomTom kit
(which is fine but does not allow all of the cable to be plugged into the
car kit therefore only requiring the user to insert the Ipaq).
Can anybody recommend a suitable alternative?
Equip:- Ipaq3870, jacket with additional battery, Leadtek GPS9532

Brodit. They do a superb cradle for the 38xx series that allows you to affix your Leadtek/TomTom GPS Mouse cable to it. Then all you need do is drop the PPC into the cradle and it will mate with the connector and receive power and GPS data.
You also need one of their ProClips which are car specific and allow a no holes mount in the ideal location.
The Brodit Part No. for the cradle is 848314. You can view the cradle here and Handnav are the UK Brodit resllers
We have reviews of Brodit solutions in our GPS Accessories section. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the advice, however I do not seem to be able to find the Brodit part number you mention on the Handnav website.
I can find the Holder f. Cable Connection foir the IPAQ3870, but the options it then lists none of them show the Brodit part number as you mentioned. Please help, I have emailed handnav but am still awaiting a reponse.
Thanks |

Because Brodit have a huge number of options Handnav could never hope to list them all on their website. I've given you the link to the Brodit Site showing the correct item and it's part number.
All I can suggest is you call Handnav and tell them the part number you require? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks | http://www.handnav.co.uk/product_details.php?id=105 will show you the clip Darren is indicating.
I'm looking at something similar but have a question - I use an 3870 with the screen protector (which fits like an expansion jacket) - if I still want to use this, do I need to buy the version for expansion jackets, or the normal one? |

Darren & all - Thanks for the advice. Purchase brodit & gooseneck (changing car soon so would be a shame to buy a proclip - also use lot of hire cars!).
Appologies for the delay in responding to your advice, much appreicated! |
