Hi, Please bear with me as I'm new to all of this.

I have plugged my xda II (from the earpiece connection) to the auxillery port on my car stereo. This enables me to hear the voice commands over my car's built in speakers. This works great if I don't plug in the power.

Whan i plug the cigarette lighter power cable in, I can hear all the engine noise over the speakers. Does anyone have any ideas on how to eliminate this?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Go to a car audio store and buy an in-line choke (inductor) that fits in the power supply lead. You may also fit a capacitive supressor across the supply to the XDA.

Depending on the level of expertise in the audio store you may need to tell then that you are doing this to the radio as the thought of an XDA might baffle them.

I prefer to use an active mount as that amplifies the sound and you don't have to stop listening to your car audio to listen to the Navigator.

Thanks very much for your reply!! That's great advice, and I'll try all you've said.
I have an Arkon mount that I bought for my Ipaq, I was wondering if it will be compatible with the XDA II?

Thanks again for all your help.

NO. Although the Ipaq and XDA II have the same connection the power is on differant pins. If you plug in the XDA II with power on the mount it will blow the XDA II's main board.
