I have a Garmin Camper 770 LMT-D and haven't updated it for a couple of map updates because there's not enough space for the process of loading new maps.
Now, I guess that I can add a micro SD card but I have a few questions:
1. What size card can I add (32 or 64 GB)?
2. Do you just add the micro SD card and then the SatNav will do its thing or do I have to change any setting to let the system know it should use a card?
Sorry for the question, I'm not that good with Garmins!
Thanks, _________________ Robert.

32Gb will be ample, if you decide on 64 for some reason note that it's not formatted FAT32 by default so won't work with your Garmin unless you reformat it.
As for your query, if you use Express it'll use the card automatically as will your Garmin. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Hi sussamb,
Many thanks for the reply.
I'll get a 32Gb micro SD card and will use Express to load the map.
Once you've loaded maps onto the card (via Express) for the first time, will the Garmin update the maps on the card via WiFi the next time there's a map release, or must you always use Express when you have maps on a card?
Finally (I think) are there any recommended micro SD cards to use or to avoid for the Garmin. Is speed of the card a major factor for the Garmin, i.e. must it be a very high speed card e.g. the speed needed for video cameras?
Once again, many thanks. _________________ Robert.

Speed ratings refer to write speeds, generally any card sold today will do, just buy from a reputable dealer as there are a lot of fakes!
I don't have your device but suspect it's best to use Express for map updates, given the size of the files. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Hi sussamb,
I'll order a card from Amazon today, and hope that it's a genuine one! Once I have received the card I'll do the update via Express and continue to use Express for further map updates.
Many thanks for your help. _________________ Robert.

Be careful it's not an Amazon marketplace seller, they are riddled with fakes.
I get mine from Scan. Slightly more expensive but genuine. _________________ Satnav:
