|
|
My TOMTOM XL is now recognised as an Internal Device and not a TOMTOM, it also does not support latest Map Updates. I can only get the shared updates. I am really annoyed and have contacted TOMTOM but there customer service was atrocious. Also as I have left my previous place of employment the email I set the TT up on they will not talk to me through my new e-mail. Please help me. Thank you in advance. |

That is so poor, I have been a lifelong TT fan and now seriously think that Garmin is the way ahead. |

If you can still Login with the old email address, Click on Account - Account details and choose 'Change Username'. You should be able to put your new email address there.

I haven't done it lately, so hope it still works as before. _________________ Richard

Thank you, but the annoying thing is that they just don't support the TT anymore. So much for maps for life. |

But life is not your life. It's the life off the TT and TT have decreed that your device is no longer alive. |

Sadly this is written into Win10 as well. Once Win10 decrees your PC is outdated it will refuse to work - allegedly.

I doubt whether in the grand scheme it makes much difference to TT. The third party camera users are probably a very small % and most will just buy a newer TT.
It's just us in the know that realise how out of date the TT cameras can be.
I don't know if TT's traffic range is still crippled. I remember the posts about it not showing traffic conditions over 100 miles away so you couldn't make a proper routeing decision on longer journeys. _________________ DashCam:

My TT actually updated all the latest maps today, yet it is still recognised an internal device. So all in all I will wait for it to completely die or when TT stop updating the main map before I buy another TT. |

"Buy another TT" even though you won't be able to use the PGPSW camera database _________________ DashCam:

The problem is Garmin does not seem to as good as TomTom. I have been a loyal PocketGps member for a long long time and if I have to move on it will be a shame. But I am hoping TT sees the light. |
