im looking to buy pda based sat nav set up for my car, which is best ipaq 2210 with tot tom and car kit or navman pin ? would be grateful of much needed advice

That depends, the Navman PiN (a rebadged Mitac Mio 168) is an all in one device, if you're referring to the TomTom Kit with GPS Mouse then that needs a 12v supply to operate whilst the PiN can run on batteries.

If however you're referring to the BT Package then that can be used on battery as well.

The Mio 168 lacks BT which is pretty common these days and allows wireless syncing to a BT equipped PC and the ability to link to other BT devices such as mobile phones etc. The 2210 has a CF Slot in addition to the SD slot which may be useful for Wireless cards and modems etc as well as additional memory storage.

The choice apart from the above is down to whether you prefer Navman's SmartST software to TomTom although some retailers are selling the Mio 168 bundle with TomTom and Evesham sell it with CoPilot.

Personally, unless you value the all in one type of device I'd go for the 2210.
