|
|
Would be grateful if some-one could advise me what file I need and how to install it, in my factory fitted 2014 Seat Leon SE sat nav.
The booklet that came with the car informs me that POI's are already installed on the sd card, but no information regarding how to update them.
Help please. |

Someone asked the same question last September (and you asked in December), but it looks like the answer is it can't be done.
The problem is that even if you could install the camera database POIs on the system, the system would have to have a warn when near POI function to get the camera warnings.
Which is a shame because I'm getting a new Golf next month which I assume has the same system. |

A little more info to help. This is the reply I got from Seat Tech in relation to a 2014 Leon ST FR model with NavTeq built in standard sat nav.
Many thanks for contacting SEAT UK Customer Services regarding the speed camera recognition function for your SEAT Leon.
I have liaised with our Technical Department and they have confirmed this function is not fitted to the media systems in any of the Volkswagen Group vehicles; as it is illegal to have speed camera recognition in vehicles in certain parts of Europe.
I understand this is not the news you wanted to hear and I apologise for not being able to assist you further.
However I have also discovered you can download direct from Navteq the new and updated maps. (Free) Big file 6Gb. in the file all POIs across EU are in the system as psf files. I dont know what this is but Dear Pocket GPS is it possible to get a list of speed camera locations in a PSF format? If so then this could surely be dropped into the list on the main file as a POI which might work. It wont give a audible warning I know but it could be used as a visual indicator on the map when in NAV mode just alerting you to the fact there is one on route. This would be beneficial to all VW Group cars moving forward then as most systems are the same I believe. |

If yours is the old Style RN510 then as far as was aware you could input POI and this is all speed cameras are
Do a search on Audi VW forums
There is a link on here somewhere
found it http://www.navpoint.co.uk/about.php |
