Bluetooth receiver - TomTom or Fortuna Clip-On?

I'm looking to buy a Bluetooth GPS receiver, and I'm trying to decide between the Fortuna Clip-On and the TomTom

It will be used with an ipaq 2210 and mainly in a car

I would appreciate advice from anyone with experience of both - which is better?

Hi Lew,

I've not used the TomTom BT GPS receiver. I'm very happy with the Fortuna Clip-On. As an alternative, you may want to look at the Navman 4100, which a lot of people seem to like.

The advantage of the Clip-On and the 4100 is that they both have user replaceable batteries. This allows an easy reset should the need arise.

Hi,

Have a read of my post at:

It compares the Emtac (similar in many ways to the TomTom) with the Fortuna.

Post the 'post', the Fortuna has worked flawlessly. The early lock problems soon disappeared - though it required some patience for the first couple of tries. I certainly consider the Fortuna to be the better device.
