Been a member for years and just replaced my TomTom One with a Start 60 Europe, can’t see any way to download the speed camera database to it, I can see that other members have posted the same question, but cannot see any responses.
This site (PocketGPSWorld) says: “START and Ease do not offer functionality officially but this can be implemented via a custom menu. Please see the forums for details." - Forums are so large that I cannot find the details !
Can anybody help please ? |

The below taken from the TT web site just a few moments ago.
"
Every TomTom navigation device comes with thousands of POIs (Points of Interest) pre-installed and you can easily install more.
Note: This feature is not available on the following devices: GO 400, GO 500, GO 600, GO 5000, GO 6000. "
There is no mention of your device on the products page. Is it an old model? |

Did a lot of investigation and finally found the answer on PocketGPSWorld (you need to be a member).
For TomTom Start 60 (and other models)
Having obtained the POI you require, connect your device to your computer and click the "MyTomTom" applet.
Note the menu item "Add community content" in MyTomTom. If you do not see this menu entry with a device connected (it is not visible when no device is plugged in), then you do not have the latest software installed on your device or the latest version of MyTomTom.
Click on the "Add community content" and then “Add POI”, and simply follow the instructions.
Hope that this helps others in my situation. |

The confusion came about because the "Start" range were originally very low-budget models with reduced facilities.
TomTom in their wisdom then brought out the "Start 60" which actually has a pretty decent spec. AND it is a NAV3 design model that uses MyTomTom/My Drive software instead of Home.
To be fair, the instructions on the PGPSW download page are about as clear as they can be, considering TomTom's awful naming system....
