|
|
I have just read todays newsletter and specifically the item concerning harmonising features and manuals for all the updates.
Would it not be possible to have a feature in Cameralert whereby an option is included that allows the database to be updated automatically and a popup, or something similar, advises that the update has been done?
My Cameralert activates whenever I leave certain areas (through Tasker) and having the warning activate about an out of date database when I am already driving can be vexing.
Just a suggestion, but one, I'm sure, many drivers would appreciate. |

It's already on our 'to do' list for both iOS and Android.
No ETA yet though.

I couldn't agree more with the OP, I also run it automatically in the background when Google Maps starts.
This would surely be relatively easy to implement, after all the check for update/ do update code is already written.
There must be a very long 'to-do' list. |

Can I ruin the party ...........
I like it as it is because you may be 'out and about' when a new version is available (Wed afternoon/evening). If you are in a poor reception area then I could see the database download failing or corrupting if you hit a dead spot whilst mobile.
So the info that a new version is available is good because I do it when I know I have a stable 3G / 4G / WiFi connection. _________________ DashCam:

See the editorial I'm about to post for some explanation of why even the simplest changes aren't always as simple as you'd think _________________ Darren Griffin |

Java is too modern for me.
My clients won't pay for any upgrade from Cobol and VB6. The people here don't use Eclipse as they prefer NetBeans _________________ DashCam:

Hi,
Just wondered if just over one year later there was any news on an auto update option? There could easily be an "Allow auto update" option in the settings for those who don't want this option.
Kind regards,

Also wondering if there is any update on 'auto-update'?
Dare I also ask about any progress in integrating CA into AndroidAuto? |
