|
|
Hello all!
Am chomping at the bit awaiting the arrival of my TTN5 tomorrow and want to get it up and running on my new XDA2i ASAP.
Is installation easy?....I'm reading that all the info is already on the memory card that comes with the kit? so do I just insert it into the XDA and away I go?
Whats all this about creating a tomtom folder onto the SD card? why should we have to do that?
Are there any issues regarding postcode searches? it seems some folk have a problem with this?
Any other tips well appreciated! |

there is no sd card with pda tomtom 5 kit
instalation works fine absolutely no problems all you have to remember is to put a blank folder on the sd card called tomtom so that you get the full postcode use
oh and by the way you will havr to turn off your phone (flight mode) when you use tomtom otherwise it will soon lockup ..apart from that it is very good on the xda2i _________________ TomTom 5001 |

Hi chaps
i have xda2i running tomtom 5 with no problems and have travelled great distances testing it!!!
it took a hard reset, the uninstall of the o2 active plug-in, and a bit of digging around the forum and tomtom website to get it right,
but i tell you what it was worth it!!
my set up is :
xda2i (without o2active on it)
tomtom 5 (upgraded from tt3)
leadtek bluetooth gps reciever 9537 (running as wired to overcome the turn off bluetooth feature thats built in to tomtom)
1gb kingston elite pro sd card
everything runs just fine, i have tested the running of this beyond 1000miles over the past week :D :D :D :D :D |

I was able to remove the o2 Active User Interface by doing the following:
1) Remove "Windows/startup/connection.exe
2) Remove" Windows/fonts/xpdr_02...
3) soft reset
4) use the uninstall from the setting to uninstall the O2 Active UI...
5) Soft reset and there you are.
This will show the clock on the top right corner and make the XDAIIi faster at startup and more stable overall as I noticed.
use these instructions for the o2 active plugin :D :D
install tt5 as normal then on your sd card put the postcode file on the root of the card then copy and paste it to your documents folder on the xda and bingo full postcode search without creating a tt folder on your sd card then in your bt settings mark checkbox for default device in services/serial port/advanced if you have a bt reciever set up tt5 as other wired reciever and tap your bluetooth serial port for your reciever |

almost forgot, before you uninstall plugin make sure each checkbox for your today screen plugins is un-checked and if you like the default phone view make sure that is set too. |

Does removing O2 Active allow you to use the phone without it freezing tomtom |
