I have followed the instructions on the sire about updating my speed cameras on the 1005 by downloading the zip file, going to My Communities,
selecting the "+" in the POI browsing to where the just downloaded zip file is on my computer, select the zip file, select install. I then receive a message saying the zip file contains files which Tom Tom does not recognize and am told to remove the files from the zip file, which I obviously cannot do.
So, I open the zip file, go back to browse, go to where the zip file has been opened, select all the gatso's select open and then receive a message saying unable to open multiple files.
So, I then decide to attempt to update the speed cameras individually, which will take about two hours, and when I go to do this I see that say the gatso 30 file now has a 1 added to it so when I install the file I have two gatso30 bmp files, 2 gatso30 ov files. The last time I did this I lost all sound warning me of the speed cameras.
My only solution has been to completely delete all the speed cameras from my 1005 and start as a new installatiom which is about three hours of work.
What am I doing wrong or has TomTom changed something??

Hi, for this method you need to use the 'TomTom (MyTomTomZip)' download type.

A couple of things to add.
For info, the reason you need the "special" zip file is that the TomTom can only import a zip archive that ONLY contains files it understands (i.e. the .ov2, .bmp and .ogg files).
The "normal" downloads also contain various text files for licence agreements, help files etc. which the TomTom gets confused by.

Now, I'm also a bit confused by where you said "...update the speed cameras individually, which will take about two hours..."
It shouldn't normally take anything like that long!
If you are simply doing a weekly update, you just go to "Add community content" select "Add POI" then select all the ov2 files and click on "upload" That's it.
On most browsers you can do that in one single operation so it takes about a minute. Internet Explorer does (or did) have an issue where you could only select one file at a time, but that would still only take about 5-10 minutes to do (Still too long, but that's why we introduced the "zip-file" method).
Admittedly, if you need to REMOVE the existing POI files on the device that is a laborious one-by-one process, but you should never need to do that for a normal weekly update, the new files should just overwrite the old ones. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)
