Updating a Map on TT ONE IQ Routes

I'm just in the middle of putting a new Map on my oldish TT One IQ Routes device and have not used Home 2 for some time. First, of course, I wanted to make a BackUp using Win Explorer but when I looked at the file, I could not access it and it said it is a FAT file??? So I did a 'Home' backup anyway. Is that enough??
I had other problems too, in that connecting to either my PC or my laptop was not possible for some time, as the device was not recognised by either. Did a drum roll reboot and also rebooted both computers and eventually it worked on my laptop.

So I am now in the position of wanting to load the new Map - so do I just move the exisiting one to the computer (Using the 'Home' programme) and then proceed?? Or is there some way of getting access to the device file system and manually backing up the Map then removing it from the device?

Solved with some help....it was the USB cable. Managed to find another one which fitted and immediately connected properly.
