Hi, after having my trusty 720 t stolen by low life i am now in a position to buy a new unit. My first choice is the 1005 v2 as i am used to the tomtom layout.
I have a garmin 550 for my bike but cant get used to it in the car, the safety camera alert is a real pain but garmin have plus points in paying once for map updates etc, but still not sure about the screen layout even in car units.
Can anyone steer me right please as user write ups on all units show problems.

I have a Garmin 1310 and a 1490, and am happy with them both. Not really sure why you don't like the 550, camera alerts work fine for me, but maybe you'd just be happier with a TT? Then again ... !! |

Its the mobile camera alerts that can go on for a few miles but the alert comes up when 1/2 mph over the limit. |

Ah OK ... to be honest I don't find them too bad but if you do then maybe Garmin isn't for you |
