Right chaps.
Hoping this is in the correct location.
Got myself an Alpine INE -S900R, having trouble getting the Camera Alert to work though.
Got it all set up to do so, downloaded (i think) the correct DB but nothing shows up.

I followed the instructions they give if using the lSCDB.info database - .csv but nothing.

It's probably me missing the obvious but is there a guide/explanation as to how to choose/select the correct DB and options?

Cheers

Not so far.... the only Alpine we have any details for is the PMD-B200P v2.0 and that used iGo software and the .txt version of the database.

Looks like you could be the resident expert! Laughing

Got any links for the instructions you followed? So people can have a look over them and see if anything comes to mind.

Hi Andy
Here's the web linky:
http://www.scdb.info/en/installation-alpine-ine-sp/

The user manual explains it the same way too.

When you go through the procedure with various files in the root of the mem stick the process fails. Have just the pocketgps .csv files in the root and device reports process worked ok.
Unfortunately nothing appears on the screen en route. Hence me wondering if there is other files i need to load - icons/graphics/voice etc.

Have you actualy got a copy of the alpine-ine-s900r_SP.zip file so that you can compare its contents with the .csv file from here?

Unfortunately not. That would be too easy.

That said, it is only €9.95. But then buying it rather defeats the object.

I'll vote for that. I was just wondering if we had an easy way out.

Tried a different format of the database tonight, same issues. So, seems next option is to plug the unit into the laptop and see if i can see anything. Unfortunately, that will have to wait, seems i have every type of usb lead except a bog standard one.
Sad

Unable to see anything via laptop so had to bite the bullet and buy the scdb version. Install worked first time.

Assuming i'm not breaking any rules, the .csv headers are:
X Y TYPE SPEED DIRTYPE DIRECTION

This sounds exactly the format that Igo use. Can you post a few of the rows of data so that we can compare with the igo format. If you are a contributor, you could try the iGO, Single file, all cams. The .txt file has the same format as you indicate, but change the file extension from .txt to .csv.

Here ya go
Heading and first six lines:

X Y TYPE SPEED DIRTYPE DIRECTION
1.55944 42.52194 1 60 2 9b298
1.52556 42.51639 1 60 1 72584
1.52431 42.51861 2 60 1 72507
1.53056 42.51194 1 60 0 d918
1.53306 42.51056 2 60 0 da12
1.52069 42.52533 1 60 1 e71ed

Interestingly, they also have a version for non upgraded firmware models. This has 0 in the type and direction columns.

Yes, i'm a contributor so will give the Igo file a try.

The iGO file has the direction directly in degrees, so almost certainly won't give directional alerts, and yours seems to be in some sort of hexadecimal that does not immediately appear to represent the angle, although it must do. I'll have a look and see if I can find the corresponding cams in our db to see if I can work out what's going on, unless that is MaFt already knows.
Can you find a bit of the file that covers the UK and post that?

Right, tried the IGO8 format, no joy. Doesn't show anything. Reinstalled the scdb version and the camera's appear again.
Seems to be the direction info causing the problem. Will have to look a little deeper.

Hi guys,
I had exactly the same problem, not only did no speed camera info show up but all the pre-installed speed camera info was also missing! I did email SCDB but as of yet i've had no reply.
I finally worked out that my unit has service pack 1 & 2 pre-installed and after downloading the correct csv file (with dirtype & direction information) it worked perfectly.
Hope this helps someone with a similar problem. :-)
