If I buy the TomTom app for iPhone, and use it to navigate through France this Summer, will it cost me anything in data or call charges? And will it work with data roaming turned off? |

So long as you buy one with French mapping (IE the EU version) then it will work fine. Obviously you won't be able to use any traffic features (extra purchase anyway) with data turned off but maps and navigation will be fine.

Just back from France. Everything on the iPhone worked as it should. No data roaming turned on.
I have a Vodaphone account. I have no idea how much data you would use on a trip, but their roaming offer on my tariff is £2/day for 25MB. After that it gets expensive as extra MB are £1 each!!
So if traffic is important to you, you can do some sums and see if it's worth it. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)
