when i downloaded as per pocketgpz Instructions i did not have any cameras, it says just to point device at zip file and it will extract all the seperate camera files this did not happen, so what i did was extract the zip file to a folder then installed them by highlighting all the camera files bmp files and ogg files and it worked but do i have to do this every time or should device unzip for me?
do i need the ogg files of are they embedded in ov2 file? |

Did you use the "special" zip file version of the download? (It's near the bottom of the drop-down list)
My TomTom cannot cope with any files in the zip archive EXCEPT the .ov2 .bmp and .ogg files, so it fails with the normal download as that has various other help files and licence text files.

That's the way we have always had to do it before this new method. Use the right zip file and it SHOULD work for you.

No, the .ogg files are not embedded in the .ov2 file so you do need to install them once. After the first install, you ONLY need to update the .ov2 files. as the .bmp and .ogg files stay the same each week.
However, if you can gewt the zip file version to work, you just let it over write everything in one go. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

For what it's worth, I have just re-downloaded the UK speedzoned "MyTomTom zip" version and installed it on a Go1005 and it all worked fine as usual
So I think you must have been doing SOMETHING wrong. As I said above you do have to use the special "MyTomTom zip" version for it to work.
One other thing which MIGHT be your problem.....
On some models and software versions you sometimes have to do a 20-second power button reset to get all the newly added POIs to show. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Thanks
I will try tonight but what do I download the week and after that? The same zip? Or just the ov2 files? |

Whichever you prefer...
Only the .ov2 files NEED to be repalced each week, but if it's easier for you to select them all, you can replace everything.
Personally, I just do the .ov2 files. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
