Hi All,
Found the 820 on QVC shopping channel for £197.88 with
1 year traffic plus 1 year maps and £30.00 trade in.
3 easy payments on top.
Is this a good deal for this model as i have a 540? |

One question,
Regarding the mount, Do i need to remove it every time i take the device out the car?
On my 540 i leave the mount and cables insitu and remove only the unit.
Don't fancy having to adjust the mount every time i use it as iam in and out the car all day (service engineer). |

Thanks for the replies,
Do you get the map and hd traffic updates for a year with Amazon?
I only need UK Map.
Regarding the mount,
Puts me off if its not a simple un click affair.
Add the cost of another type of mount then it may not be worth it.
I love my 540 but still sometimes reboots and takes a while to start traffic.
Does not look like any further updates for the 540. |

Their thinking behind this is that it encourages you not to leave evidence of your GPS in the car.
But there are already a number of options for alternative mounts. TomTom have a vent mount and a quick release dashtop mount as extra cost options. _________________ Darren Griffin |

TomTom normally announces new models a good few months ahead of general availability; notwithstanding the GO 8xx we have heard nothing about new models so I suspect there's nothing imminent. |

Not 100% sure on the map upgrades.
I have seen reports of people saying maps for 12 months are included on the 820, but if not you may be able to use the 24 month map service card from Halfords for £29 as I did with my GO1000. You may need to ring up TomTom to get it activated though if it doesn't work via Home. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,
