And that is one of the reasons why we don't recommend it as a solution. It was always a hack and could be taken away with an update to the app or the OS.
Why not ask in the thread that you linked to? _________________ Darren Griffin |

The upgrade to iOS5 will have caused a re-load of the TomTom app which will be devoid of the files you added to get the speed camera warnings working, re-install in line with the instuctions and it will be fine - Mike |

Usual issues:
Check the TomTom app isn't running in the background when you copy the mapsettings.cfg file over to the app.
Make sure you put the mapsettings.cfg file in the correct folder.
Have you added a set of Speed zoned ov2 files to the files downloaded from the page Darren limked to - Mike |

The app is not running when i copied the file over and it still wont work.
I had this ages ago and then got it to work again.
i think i will copy the mapsettings file from my old one xl and see if that helps. _________________ Not Lost Yet!! But Jane is always there to help

I too have upgraded to Tomtom 1.9 on my iphone 4S running IOS5.
I have reinstalled all the files from here for the camera alerts and no alert is played. I can confirm that TT was not running on the iphone when I copied the files over, and I used the mapsettings config from here. I have also copied over the ov2 files from this weeks update. _________________ -------------------------

You must be doing something wrong, I have just updated the iPhone4 to iOS5 and updated the TomTom app to V1,9 loaded all the required files in to their respective folders and the app is working fine displaying the PGPSW speed camera icons and playing the ogg audio warnings when running route demo or driving around.
Have any of you removed the TomTom speed camera files while loading the database from this site, I haven't done this step as yet - Mike |

One slight issue you might notice is the mobile VAR camera category doesn't have an icon, this is because the category has been added to the database since I last updated the icons.
Easy to fix though, just use Paint to save the existing mobile var icon as a 24 bit bmp then save as png and add the resultant file to the map folder along with all the other icon files, if you are running an iPhone4 you might also want to resize the icon to 44x44 as they display better at that size - Mike |
