If it's not telling you what it's updating, I think it will only be something minor like GPSQuickfix or camera updates.

Navcore and map updates are shown in MyTomTom before they download.

There was an update on Saturday on my GO 1000.

Nobody seems to know what it was for on other forums including TomTom's own forum.

The Navcore number has not changed.

It could also be UP- loads of crash logs or the "anonymous usage statistics data collection" (if you didn't opt out of that when you first entered your account details).

... or possibly an update to a new application build?

Same main version number but build number 2041, (3/8/2011) maybe?

I had this download on my Go1000 - it lasted about 9 minutes, which is average for a Navcore update. Mine was updated to 10.500......(2041, 3/8/2011)

BUT, on this occasion, there was no indication in MyTT of what was about to be downloaded. It just started when I connected the device...........

Maybe this will prevent the issue I had with another device taking over my account!

Mine (Via 120) does not switch off when disconnected from the car charger.

I will be returning this to the shop as they promised me I could add US maps to it for my trip later this year.

TT support just say "soon".

Joke.

My one again today wants to perform another ten minute upgrade to my 1005.

It gave me no information about what it was or does.

When it completed the 1005 did not have to reboot so I guess it is some database update?

Same here. No change found on the device, though.
