Am I doing something wrong?
New LIVE1000. MyTomTom says there are 2 map files to be updated under the latest map guarantee. 3Gb+
Downloaded OK (took nearly 2 hours). TomTom then reboots and starts a short installation sequence for about 3mins then reboots again. Then starts another longer (est 1.5hrs) installation sequence.
Gets to about 40% then freezes. Message on PC says 'connection interupted' then TomTom reboots. Tomtom says "No Maps" then the long installation sequence starts again.
Tried 3 times now. Always gets to about 40% then the same problem.
Anyone had similar issues??.. or is it byorked? |

Try clearing the cache in MyTomTom's desktop settings, reset the unit by holding the power button about 10 seconds till you hear the drum sounds and then connect & try again. _________________ David |

It's a long shot, but it's also worth trying a different USB port on the PC.
Use one at the back, not on the front; and also NOT one on an add-on USB hub. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Check that power saving is not enabled on the PC, as this can cause ports to sleep due to length of time some installs take. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

Cheers guys.
Switched to the port in the back. Positioned the TomTom were the mobile signal would be good. Turned off antivirus. Changed port for MyTomtom and opened port on router. Used Firefox instead of IE9. Killed every process on the PC except vital windows processes... and finally it worked.
Simple really. |
