Have just got new 1490 LMT which seems great but is there any way that I can view the GPS installed maps (lifetime Europe) on my PC ?? Would be nice to be able to plot routes and waypoints in this way just like I did on my old Mapsource DVDs for my Streetpilot i3
Thanks a lot

that basecamp sw is more for trails etc. Mapsource will allow you to plot routes and waypoints and download them to your device.
When you connect your device to the garmin map updater it should give an option to install on PC as well so you can use mapsource with it.
Thats how my 3760 works. |

Thanks both of you for the replies which were most helpful. Yes, I find that the mapsource seems the best for routing

I too find Mapsource more user friendly than Basecamp, however Garmin are no longer supporting Mapsource and it won't work correctly with the newer models.
Routing however should be the same for both, provided they're using the same mapset. Note that neither send the route to your nuvi, but simply the waypoints you've entered. Your nuvi will recalculate the route depending on the settings it has for routing, eg avoid toll roads, shortest route etc. |

I downloaded the latest version of Mapsource and it uploads routes.waypoints etc to my 1490 LMT.
I found with Basecamp that couldn't delete anything ! Normally you can do that by right clicking, but I never found out how to do it !!!
