|

Would somebody with SmartST V2 be kind enough to load the North west and south west france maps, then try to zoom into a town called Blois. Is it corrupt?
It closes the software as soon as I try. Also if you have a look around these areas you get some very strange mapping indeed. Please post you findings.
Navman are looking into it for me and I'll post any news as soon as I have it. |

If I zoom in closer than 1 mile scale in Blois a get a message which says "Program closing". Also when I move around (100km -200km) to the west or south west the map becomes jumbled and a pattern of triangles appear.
Can you reproduce this?
Oh and when I do an address search for "Blois" the program shuts down. |

Have you updated to SP1? Also, are you using a PPC, iCN or other device? _________________ Tim |

I Have the SP1 installed and use a PPC. Maps are stored on 256mb MMC cards set to fat 16. Around 31mb of memory are allocated to program running.
My maps product key begins with MEU-025 if that is any help? |

The Product Code Key number you quote is the same as mine and also my son-in-laws and I would suspect everyone else's. You say you have the maps stored onto an 256MB MMC card. Have you tried an SD card
What Navman unit are you using

No I can't, I have full zoom and the surrounding mapping is clear without errors. It could be the mm card you are using.
Do you only experience this around the Blois area on the north west France segment? If so then it could be that segment is indeed corrupt.
As you have contacted Navman with the problem I would wait for a response from them. It could well be that a replacement map disk is the answer. _________________ Ian.

I have no problems either. I've loaded NW France and zoomed in to the max around Blois, also panned around in every direction with no problems. _________________ Tim |

Thanks for looking guys.
I think the MMC card is just too full. I thought that if they were inactive from the menu screen it wouldn't make any difference but with only 12mb free it doesn't seem to be able to cope. Could this be a fault with the MMC card or is this normal. |

Does this mean that you've tried removing some unused maps from your MMC? i.e. with, say, just North West and South West France loaded, does your problem persist? _________________ Tim |

Sorry for the late reply. I'm in France now.
Yes it did at first appear to fix the issue. but having now used it, it now seems that the corruption just moved to a different part of the map.
I've also reproduced it with an SD card now.
I had the same problem in Spain last week although the UK maps are fine.
Navman have now come back to me and after checking some serial numbers on the product and have sent me a new copy of SmartST and Maps. I will let you kow how I get on in a couple of weeks. |
