I cannot turn my Satmap 10 off. The screen goes blank, but the Satmap is still working because the battery charge gets depleted. After switching the power back on, the screen display immediately continues where it left off with no bootup sequence and sometimes already locked to a satellite.
The only way I can switch off completely is to disconnect the battery. Then, after replacing the battery and pressing the power button, the Satmap goes through its usual correct bootup and lock-on process.
This has never happened before in over two years use, and no changes have been made to the software.
Any ideas, please anyone? |

No idea at the moment but does it ask the usual question as to whether you want to turn it off? _________________ LostMike

It sounds as if the hibernate mode has somehow got inadvertently switched on. Check that this isn't the case in the power setup menus. |

Problem solved ! Hibernate was set to 8 hours. I don’t know how this happened. I don’t use hibernate normally and don’t know how it got set.
Now that I know the answer I realise that it is explained in the Full User Guide (p17).
Many thanks. |

Despite being a great function, the Hibernate mode has caught a few in our club also. One lad was about to return a non performing Li battery - because the device was still running even when he though he was only charging. Another unit could not complete a device update again because the device was not turning off until the Hibernate time was expired.
