SatSync Printout

It's all very well trying to create a route, on a small screen, using Satsync, but I can't fathom out how to print out the finished route ? (I need to give a copy to the back marker on my walks.)....as the route may well go off the smal screen. So, how's the best way to create a walk that can be printed out, preferably at 1:25 ?

You can't print out a map directly from the device. You would need to export the gpx file and open it in a seperate digital mapping application which could be either web based or PC based. If you have access to satmaps digital mapping interface then you may be able to print from there I don't use it so I don't know if you can.

I use quo you can buy the tiles individually from 99p I think it is for 1:50k and a couple of quid for 1:25k the software is free and it works well with satmap gpx files and is full screen. http://www.mapyx.com/

http://maps.the-hug.net/index.php is a web based free program but only 1:50k you can print from your web browser. It doesn't like the satmap raw.gpx file but is does take the smaller version fine.

Ordnance Survey have just launched a free site http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/getamap/ you can print 1:25k i've not yet tried uploading a satmap gpx file to it.

Just to add to Gibbo's excellent advice you can import and print out your gpx files on OS 1:25k maps here:

An excellent site also written by the Hug. You need to register to access the 1:25k maps but it's free.
