|
|
Hi there,
I seem to be having trouble with the app reverting to default settings and the demo database. it does still retain my account though.
I did have the test version installed, but I deleted this before installing the current version from the market.
Any help appreciated.[/i] |

What handset model? Is there anything unusual about your device, custom OS? Apps2Sd etc? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi,
Handset is samsung galaxy s.
It is running stock froyo 2.2.1, not rooted.
I've tried it in phone memory and sd, doesn't seem to make a difference.
Works perfectly apart from this.
Thanks for your help. |

It's the first issue of this type reported. Have you tried exiting the app and re-launching (ore re-booting)?
Failing that, can you send us the log-files, found in:
sdcard\Android\data\com.pocketgpsworld.cameralert\files
.zip them up and send to support[at]pocketgpsworld.com _________________ Darren Griffin |

Also, on your device, can you please check how much main memory you have left? It is possible that the database update fails because there isn't enough space. _________________ Lutz

Hello again,
1.66 gb free in main memory plus 5.7gb on internal sd.
I've emailed the logs over to support as well now. |

Some more info:
I uninstalled the current version and reinstalled the 3.33 test version, this worked flawlessly when first installed, but now behaves the same as the current market version 3.46.
I remember now that when I first installed the current version it did return a ' not signed correctly' error. the test version was installed at the time. Once I un installed the 3.33 version the 3.46 version then installed successfully.
It also retained the link to my account, I wonder if it were possible to completely clean the data and re link my account whether this may fix the problem.
Hope the extra info may help. |

That is expected.

That would not have any effect. Our server retains your device ID, so an uninstall/re-install would have the same ID and hence no necessity to re-link each time.
It has no other purpose than controlling access to the database - it could not cause the issue you describe. _________________ Darren Griffin |

@darrengsaw: Looks like you may have inadvertedly pressed the Download button twice in quick succession. Or maybe your touchscreen is just out of whack (I see that quite often on my Nexus One, and the only "fix" is to put the device to sleep and wake it up again. That seems to recalibrate the touchscreen). Give it another try. _________________ Lutz

Fixed, a simple hard reset of the phone has got everything working as it should again. |
