Routing - are all Garmin satnavs created equal?

Hi All,

I currently have an ageing Nuvi 205 which whilst old has always done a great job and I've been very happy with it.

However, I've been seduced by the looks of the new Nuvi 3790T but reading some user reviews, one of the major criticisms has been over it's routing. So my question is do all Garmin devices essentially use the same routing (notwithstanding differences between shortest/quickest route options)? In other words, if I'm happy with the routing on my old Nuvi 205 could I expect the same on a newer model or are they totally different, hence the criticism in some reviews.
