|
|
Hi,
I downloaded voice alerts for TomTom and instaled as instructed.
Basicaly I have put all my POI,s into "UK & IRELAND" folder.
I then add the OGG files to the same folder on my UK-IRELAND.
all my speed cameras & POI from PGPSW work fine but when I
try to add a warning sound all it does is ask me if I want this
sound without any choice.
If I then remove the OGG files from PGPSW it then gives me the
standard tomtom warnings.
Any idas.
Thanks,
Jeff |

That is CORRECT.
If there is an ogg file with the same name as the .ov2 POI file then that sound will be assigned to the POI automatically.
Although it works, it is an undocumented feature and they never wrote any pretty menu screens to show that it is happening.
what you are seeing is described in the instructions at the bottom of the voices download page voices download page ....
Quote: | Version 7/8 Note:
With the arrival of Version 7 & now 8 there is a small bug/change that affects the procedure. If you have installed the .ogg file packs you will be asked to choose a sound but will not be offered any options, this is normal. You will be asked 'Is this the sound you want?'. You should answer Yes on this screen. If you do, you will then see the warning distance screen and can proceed as normal.

Try it with a demo route past a camera and you'll probably find it's all working fine.
However, if you want the peace of mind of selecting the voice from the list of sound in the normal way, do as Paul suggests and put the sounds into the "sounds" folder instead of the UK map folder.
This is fully described as "Method 2" in the installation instructions HERE (same link as above).
Let us know how you get on! |

A great answer,
Perhaps I should have read the bloody instructions properly
in the first place.
I will try this tomorrow & let you know how I get on.
Cheers,
