My Active 10 is fully updated as of 20/12 2010 but I am having problems deleting unwanted POIs and renaming others.
I have run through the whole process as per the latest SatMap guide and the changes appear to work initially, but when I switch the unit off an then on again the changes are lost and I still have the same old POI information/names as I had before I made the changes.
I don't know if this is a reult of any of the recent upgrades or if I am missing some vital but obvious step.
Can anyone help please? |

I can't replicate this. I' on the same version.
How are you getting to edit the POI? |

Hi Andy,
Thanks for your interest.
The way I have attempted this delete/rename PoI's to go to the OOI menu then "List all PoI's" then "Internal Storage" select PoI's and on to "My PoI's".
I then select the specific "PoI, then "Edit" toggle down to "Delete" then press the button labeled "Delete" (or renamed , as appropriate).
If I then recheck my list of PoI's it shows that the PoI appears to be absent i.e. Deleted.
If I switch the Active 10 of, the next time I switch on the so called "Deleted" PoI is still listed and the location/icon shows on the map screen.
I have not tried too hard using SatSync as I find it a little difficult and also believe that I should be able to carry out this process 'in the field' without the use of a computer as per the instruction manual.
I have tried moving all PoI's to the SD card and then deleting but the same result ensues.
Any help would be appreciated or perhaps I should just phone those helpful people at SatMap.

That is how I was trying to replicate the issue, I also tried clicking on a POI on the map, and approached the same menu that way.
I can't get the same problem you are having.
After Monday's update Satsync did say that there was no need to reset the Active 10, but it might be advisable to try that before ringing Satmap. Settings/default/reset all. I suggest that you copy everything from your device first, using Satsync. Just in case it is your files that are the problem, try creating, deleting, editing POIs before you copy the stuff back. |

Thanks for that advice Andy,
I'll try your suggestion and see how I get on and post the results when I've tried.
It may be a few days as the grandsons are about to visit for Christmas and I'm a sucker for their company, fun and entertainment!!

I have reset all to the default settings and this has cleared all of the old PoI's and I can now start again.
I am sure that this is not what was intended by Satmap but - hey ho it's worked.
Thanks for the suggestion and a successful outcome.
