|
|
Hello,
I am currently running an iphone 4 on v 4.1 and recently updated the CameraAlert to the enw v 1.2. I also have the Copilot v 8.2.0.280 installed on the iPhone and use the Tomtom dock with iPhone 4 adaptor in the car.
I have noticed a strange issue since the update.
When not docked both the copilot and Cameralert software run fine.
I have used the Tomtom utility to check that the iphone 4 is docked and using the enhanced GPS chip in the dock.
However, when docked if I start the Copilot software the GPS signal is detected and the software runs ok but as soon as I start the Cameralert software and switch back to the Copilot product the GPS signal is dropped and refuses to detect a GPS signal but if I switch back to the Cameralert software there is a GPS signal and it works fine. If I terminate just the Cameralert software the Copilot still refuses to detect a GPS signal.
In order to get the Copilot software working again I have to termintate both apps and then just start the copilot to get satnav again.
Prior to the update to I was on iphone firmware 4.01 and used the same version of Copilot and the previous release of Cameralert. The only issues I experienced with this configuration was Cameralert used to lockup after about 30 mins of use and needed a complete power off/on to get it to work again.
If the iphone is used without attachment to the dock then I do not experience this issue.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Not off the top of my head but I'll try and replicate here.
I do know that there is a dock with a later firmware version, I have both so will test and see what happens. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I get the same thing - I use the TomTom app, a TomTom cradle with an iPhone 4 and CamerAlert. If I have CamerAlert running in the background, my TomTom app is reporting poor GPS reception pretty much all the time.
It's as though CamerAlert is hogging the GPS and not allowing the TomTom app access to it. If I run the TomTom Car kit tool, it reports lots of satellites at a very strong signal. |

The 'poor GPS reception' bug is a known TomTom 1.4 issue as I've said a number of times here and as explained on the v1.2 CamerAlert download page.
TT have submitted v1.5 to Apple which corrects issue, just waiting on them to approve it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

No it doesn't. V 1.5 is worse than 1.4 on my iPhone 3GS. _________________ iPhone 3GS 32Gb, OS 4.1, not jailbroken, CoPilot, TomTom, TomTom car kit. |

On mine, 1.5 has solved all the problems of TomTom losing the signal. It's great now. |

Could be a 3GS issue then. Time to upgrade. _________________ iPhone 3GS 32Gb, OS 4.1, not jailbroken, CoPilot, TomTom, TomTom car kit. |

Darren
Have you had chance to test and can you replicate the problem I am getting?
Thanks
