Hello all,
I recently purchased the above unit which I find great but......
I cannot find a way of getting custom poi's on the device.
The way I update the device is with a 4gb usb stick that mirrors the 4gb flash drive built into the device.
It uses the site www.naviextras.com for map updates.
So does anyone know how to install custom poi's on this device ie the PGPSW Camera Database.
Many Thanks

Have you tried creating a speedcam folder on the USB stick in the igo8 folder (or whatever it is named on this device) and copying the PGPSW speed camera database into it. Then when you update the device this will be mirrored onto the internal flash memory.

Excellent that worked a treat.
Question now is about the warnings the tone used is a bit odd.
I've done a bit of reading on igo8 and its Skins.
This is the device I have http://www.zenec.com/en/products/ego/volkswagen-seat/ze-nc2010/
Compared to you people with igo8 on PDA's etc is this stripped down?
I ask as I'm curious as to how much igo8 can be customised on this device.
Many Thanks

Looks like an excellent device, expensive though !
I doubt if it is a stripped down version, if you can find the data.zip file then this can be edited same as any other version of iGO. You may not find any skins to suit the resolution of the device and may have to do it yourself.
The audio files are in the audio folder inside the data.zip.

Yes I have the data.zip within this .zip file I have the following:
audio folder
config folder
fonts folder
gfx folder
project_config folder
ui_igo8 folder
ctype.dat
FFkeymap.txt
You say making the skins myself what would be involved in converting your latest skins?
Within the data.zip/ui_igo8 there is a folder labelled 400_234 within that folder is a background folder, night folder and a ui folder then within the folder alot of .bmp files.
Would that indicate the igo8 resolution is 400x234?
Many thanks for all your help.

An awful lot of work

Yes, and there are other skins that support that resolution but may not be compatible with what looks like a highly customised data.zip.

I haven't worked with iGO8 for quite a while now and can't even remember where the skin selection menu should be located. Although I suspect that they've removed it. So I can't help I'm afraid.

Have you tried following Linknet's instructions on the second post in this topic yet? |
