Hi,
I'm new to the forum and have a Kenwood DNX 7260BT.
Any idea how to get the points of interest to show up on the map?
Also, is the update for the speed cameras done in the same way as with the 7240 model?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

i don;t think the POIs will show on the map in driving mode. garmin usually don't do this. some models though, when you stop, they will show, or if you are on the 2d-view (i.e. tap the map when driving and scroll map around etc).

If you load your Poi’s with POI Loader and include the bitmap files with the CSV files e.g.: uk_gatso_20.cvs, and uk_gatso_20.bmp, they will show up in the map and give you a beep. When you load the poi’s via POI Loader make sure you do it under manual mode and tick the radio button for warnings. It will work in 3D view also. Good luck. |

I have just done this on my 7240BT model using the Garmin poi loader. I downloaded the uk camera database file then burnt the garmin/poi folder on a cd after the poi program had finished. I have poi in 2d and 3d mode
Going for a drive to check alert notification
Edit just tried the new camera poi and it works fine, even when zoomed out more than 300metres in both 3d and 2d. The bleep is a little weak though, to get your attention.
I have just upgraded the Kenwood firmware to V3.4 before installing the camera POI
