Is it worth buying from Amazon for £78 , or Garmin for £99.99?
and... off topic, has anyone ever got through to Garmin support? Over the last few years, I reckon I've 'phoned them twenty, maybe thirty times. (Works' 'phone bill ) I've always given them twenty minutes to answer, they did on two occasions.
They do say to e-mail support, which I've done at least a dozen times, never yet had one response from them. |

Well, i've phoned them a few times and generally got through within about 10 mins. I've emailed them a few times and mostly got replies back within about 2 or 3 days, though it did take a fortnight to get a reply recently.
Regarding the lifetime updates, I got mine from amazon, it was the cheapest I could find it, though as cwog says have a look at ebay or do a general web search, google shopping can be handy.
Definitely no need to pay the inflated price that Garmin themselves charge.
Handtec are knocking it out for £68 at the moment. |

My problem at the moment is with mapsource see http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=83299
So I have no mapsource available, which is a bit of a pain. |

Yeah, I can see that would be a pain.
Do you send an actual email, or do you contact them through support via myGarmin?
If you send through support you should get answer reasonably quickly. |

I've contacted them twice on this occasion, both through the support link. I did get a confirmation of receipt message. |

OK, sounds like you have given it a good go, i'm out of ideas on that one.
There are one or two more technically minded users who might be able to help you with mapsource, but there are more TomTom experts on here really.
You could try one of the american forums, Garmin are much bigger in the USA so you might get some luck there.
Sorry. |
