hi is it possible to get the database with just the ov2 files? as i have the high quality bmp files and everytime i put the new database on i also have to re copy these, i know it doesnt seem that bad but having a tt go live 550 i like to copy as little as possible as its very flaky at the best of times!

Welcome to the forum, Simon.

Are you unzipping the whole of the download directly to your device? If you download the database, unzip to your pc and sort the files in type order, it's very quick and easy to just copy the ov2 files to your device.

you could right-click the bitmaps you want to keep and mark them as read-only. that way you would be prompted each time you extract the files and you can say 'no' to copying/over-writing them.

Bit long-winded unless he says NO TO ALL, then he'd not get the new OV2s! I do it Anita's way.

'no to all' would only refer to the read-only files. "do you want to over write xxx.bmp as it is read only? yes / no / no to all". at least i THINK that was how it works?!

Same as the first two replies....
This is what I do every time:

Download to PC,
unzip to same folder,
click on the "type" column in Explorer to sort by filetype,
click and drag to select just the .ov2 files,
copy any paste into map folder.
