How accurate is the mph speed data on Tom Tom3? My Focus' speedo appears to under-read by about 10% according to TT3 - ie TT3 says about 45mph when the speedo says 50mph.
Also I have a car with a very unreliable speedo - is there a 3rd party program that will display a large speed reading on my Ipaq 2210? (the TT3 is a bit small, and I'd really like one that fills the screen.

That's about right. We've discussed this in the past in detail, though the best thread was so old that it's expired from the forums.
For now, take a look here (click the smaller word). In the EU, a speedometer is allowed to read up to 10% over the true speed, but must not read under the true speed.

Thanks for directing me to that thread (I did try a search - honest! - but came up with too many hits).
Per the second part of my question, has anyone come across a program that will display just the speed from the GPS data so I can have a large "digital speedo"

Don't worry about failing with your search, Simon - it's an old thread, and I knew if I searched on the word "tachograph" amongst my posts I wouldn't have many threads to check.
As for software, I don't have any ideas - but maybe someone else does. There are various "GPS Dashboard" type programs out there - though I don't think any of them take GPS data from TomTom GPS, so you'll have to choose between TomTom Navigator and these programs.
Many of these programs try to offer the same features of a handheld GPS receiver - though I'm not sure if any give a large speed display. Maybe it's a case of hunting through the reviews on this site and around on the Internet for what is available.

swarrans, if you happen to find any software that displays the speed I would be happy to hear about it
My speedo is in Kmh so a large mph display would be great. if I happen across something I too will post here. _________________ Ian.
