|
|
Can anyone throw any light onto how I may install CoPilot Live from DVD to my HTC Hero?
I have run the install procedure OK which appears to have run successfully (various files and folders being installed to the MicroSD card in the Hero).
The instructions then require connection to the internet (copilotlive.com/androidinstall) and the download of an install application to the Hero - which the instructions suggest will then "install" CoPilot. It should then appear as an installed app.
But - while the install application has been downloaded to the Hero, it does not appear to run or allow CoPilot to become "installed".
CoPilot were contacted who advised they would email instructions (they have not) and a subsequent ticket raised on their on-line Tech Support area has still not been answered. |

Hi MaFt ...
... and thanks for the speedy reply.
Yes, I have ticked the box to allow apps from 3rd parties. I have actually tried the install both with and without the box being ticked (no apparent difference).
CoPilot's install instructions contradict somewhat:
1 ... Once the download is completed the installation will proceed automatically.
2 ... Once the download is completed "tap on it" and have CoPilot install commence.
Quite how I can tap on this download "com.alk.copilot.apk" I have yet to discover?! as it does not appear in the list of downloaded apps (altho it is visible via the USB link to the PC).

I would assume you would need to use a file manager on the phone (e.g. Linda File Manager which can be obtained via the Android Market) and then select the file. Because it is an .apk file, it should perform an install using it. |

ok, try this:
download 'eoeAppInstaller' free from the marketplace. then it should scan and detect the apk file and offer to install it.
