|
|
Hello
I have 2210 and TTN3 with fortuna clipon. Problem is (as advised by this forum) the GPS driver blocks the COM port for other applications like MM Navigator.
Advice is to install version 2.7 driver BUT HOW DO I DO THIS?
I tried downloading the driver ver 2.7 but ended up with tomtom3 not working either!
Thanks for any help

You need to uninstall your current GPS driver first. Then install v2.07. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks Darren, but what is the procedure for removing the current GPS driver? If I go to settings > remove programs, the only options are TomTom Navigatore, TomTom wizard and TomTom Voice.
I tried wizard but all my tomtom icons disappeared! |

If there is a GPS Driver installed you should see TomTom~GPS, as you don't it suggests you have already uninstalled it?
What happens when you try to install v2.07? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I dont see that, BUT
- tomtom works ok so it must have the driver
- when I install the 207 driver it asks me if want to overwrite existing driver files
So I've done that. If I start tomtom I get a series of beeps. No GPS menu so I go to the GPS icon and CANNOT enable the BT GPS tick box - just a beep.
What is the answer? Why does Memory Map have to use the TTN driver for GPS. Cant it use its own? |

Have you tried a soft reset? Memory-Map does not require TomToms driver to work, it uses it's own BUT v2.08 and later of TomTom's GPS Driver blocked the BT Com Port and so 3rd party applications were unable to access a BT GPS.
If a soft reset does not work, install the latest GPS Driver (v3.02), this should correct the issue with it not appearing in Remove Programs. Once you have it showing in Remove Programs reply in this thread and I'll take you through the steps to unblock the port whilst still retaining v3.03. _________________ Darren Griffin |
