|
|
I posted elsewhere a fix for a non-computer voice problem HERE . This worked well on my ONE IQ device so I decided to try it on My GO630 withy the following result
You will see that the Voice screen on the device seems to think that the voice is Chinese, however the actual UK English (Irish) voice worked fine. I tried to uninstall the voice and then reinstall in the hope that I would get the correct image without success. Eventually I had to uninstall it, then run the TT Clear Flash to purge the remaining image. I have not bothered to reinstall this voice as I have had enough bother with it already.

What's the number in the dataxxx.chk and .vif files? Sounds like the 630 may have more "standard" voices available and you've used the number allocated for one of them. Try changing them to a really high number and see what happens.
When I tried getting an Irish voice working ages ago, I changed the numbers to see if I could get to recognise it as Irish and not something else to no avail. _________________ Gerry

I'm getting the same on a 940...
I suspect this is down to TomTom changing their own numbering system...
Kathy v1 (which didn't cut off at the end) was data119
Kathy v7 (which did) is data162
So if you replaced the dodgy v7 Kathy with the older one it seems to cause this.
There is apparently a fixed version of Kathy v7 available on Home now, but I haven't got round to installing it yet.. |

I thought that I had replaced the dodgy Kathy (data 119) with the latest one, but sorry, did not take a note of the version relating to that newly installed version. Maybe, I should go back and try again. She is installed satisfactorily on the Go730 and ONE IQ. I'll look out for the v7, then.
