I've discovered quite by chance that the Irish Grid system is now available on my Active 10 - it certainly wasn't there before October 2009. I'm assuming it came bundled with the latest software upgrade v1.4?
I purchased the complete map of Ireland during the summer before the Irish Grid system was available from Satmap, which limited its usefulness in the Republic somewhat. One can imagine my delight at the release of this update, which has enabled my Irish map to now fully function on my Active 10 as intended. I'm just puzzled why Satmap should release this very important update (at least to Irish mapping purchasers!) completely unannounced, unless someone knows differently. |

If you believe this to be the case then thanks, it is indeed a helpful comment, however, as a regular recipient of Satmap's news bulletins I can't recall this one personally. The Irish Grid was certainly not available iin late Sep 2009, as confirmed by Satmap at the time who stated 'We do not have a release date for the new software but hopefully within the next couple of months.' |

Maybe someone was Beta testing devices in Ireland and found that there was no Irish Grid system there!

I'm now convinced that Satmap must have slipped it in unannounced with the v1.4 software upgrade last year. Even so, when I've queried it with individual Satmap staff, they seem as surprised as I was by its inclusion - and didn't have a clue how it got there! |
