Hi
If you search a JB iphone with TomTom installed you will see 3 safety camera files listed as
safety_cam_UK_TomTom.ov2
safety_cam_UK_TomTom.ov2.dct
safety_cam_UK_TomTom.ov2.ver
I assume these are the files that TT use for the camera display and warnings in the UK. Can anybody confirm ?
If so can we then overwrite the .ov2 file with the Pocket GPS data so that we get visual and audible warnings for all cameras rather than just the TT fixed cameras ?
I have no idea what the .dct and .ver files are for, maybe these need to be changed somehow as well ?
If this would work since there is only one .ov2 file how can we join the Pocket GPS data files for each camera type so that everything for the UK is included in one file.
There used to be this single file option in the data download but this has long since dissapeared to be replaced with sectioned files for each camera type or speed zone.
I await your replies with interest to see if any of this is possible and if so how it is done or am I barking up the wrong tree ? ( or just plain barking ! ) |

As with the standalone units, the TT camera files are a different format and are used in a different way to the POI based PGPSW files. It's only the extension that's the same. _________________ Gerry

Gerry, thanks for the quick reply.
Is there any way you know of to convert PGPSW ov2 files into the required TT format ?
I guess for a clever software bod this is a fairly easy conversion routine to write ( I know easier said than done ) |

The TomTom OV2 format is encrypted and there currently is no way of converting in either direction between the formats. |
