I sure hope you have a backup of your map folder. you see, the poi.dat file is the one included with the map and includes millions of pois. If you overwrote that file with a custom file you downloaded, ....
What you SHOULD have done with the downloaded custom .ov2 (and perhaps associated .bmp file) is to copy them to the specific map folder using Explorer. _________________ David |

Not clear what you are saying. Did you download a poi file from 'this' site meaning pocketgspworld?
If so, it should be in the form of xxx.ov2 where xxx is the name of the poi file you downloaded. Just copy this .ov2 file into your specific map folder (Western_Europe?) and on your unit Change Preferences---Show poi on map---and check the poi you downloaded, it should appear in the list. _________________ David |

As David has said, the POI files you download are .ov2 files (the actual POI data) and .bmp files (the POI Icon).
You simply copy these files to the 'map' folder on your device where 'map' is the name of you map i.e. Western_Europe or 'UK_and-Ireland' etc
Let us know if that helps or if you are still confused? _________________ Darren Griffin |
