Could someone please advise which is the best way to avoid part of a route. I am driving from Gloucester to Torquay on Friday (tomorrow) afternoon. I want to avoid part of the M5 due to resurfacing work on the Avonmouth Bridge in Bristol. However the M5 is the majority of the planned route (approx 98 miles). But I dont need to avoid all of it, I only want to avoid part of the M5 so is there a way to avoid part of a road. I want to avoid part of the M5 and join it around say Weston-Super-Mare, is there a way to force the routing this way?

Thanks in advance.

Rob.

"Avoid" tends to only be for entire roads.
How about using "travel via" and picking somewhere off the motorway?
(although even then, it might decide to take you off the motorway, along to the "via" point and then back onto the motorway at the same point!)

How about an Itinerary? Might only need 2 Waypoints.

I don't know what the roads round Bristol are like to be able to make a real suggestion, but how about the first on the A4174 and another on the A38?

Would the extra time involved be any better than the delays on the M5? Smile
