I recently boughtb a GO 730 after ditching an old MIO A201 with Navigator 6.
I have purchased another map (New Zealand) and I have placed the new map onto a SD card. To gain space on the internal memory I have move the map of Europe over to the SD card.
The 730 fires up OK and seems to work OK except for one problem. It will only do a 4 character Post Code search. To check this I have gone to Browse Map, then Find, then Post Code and tried to enter a full Post Code but it will only find the first half.
I have placed a file called Tomtom in the root directory of the SD Card and the Internal memory but it still does not work.
Do i need to add any Post Code files or what else must I do? |

Is there a folder named "zip" on the device or the memory card, and if so are there any files in it? as it sounds like this is missing to me - Mike |

Is this for UK or NZ that you are trying the post code search? _________________ Darren Griffin |

The UK
Also there is no folder called zip on either SD card or internal memory. How do I get hold of this folder?
Thanks to you both. |

If you have installed the files from Oldboys web site then you have the most upto date that are currently available, the newer devices might have something newer installed but AFAIK these newer files are only available with the purchase of a new device, no download/ update of the very latest files are currently available - Mike |

Question for Darren really. There are constant rumours that the (latest) v801 postcode files have been superseded, but still no sign of release from TomTom. I'm now getting more and more instances of TT device not finding a postcode when I can find it using Royal Mail's website (e.g. BS32 4JA). Trouble is, that's not much use when you're on the road and not sitting at a PC to look at Royal Mail website.
Any chance of you using your good offices with TomTom to ask what the prospects are, please? _________________ Dennis
