I have just returned from spending 3 weeks traveling by car in France & Ireland and to be of help to others post this:-
Ireland (County Cork & County Kerry) No Live or RDS-TMC
France (Normandy & Brittany) No Live but some RDS-TMC in and around the larger cities & towns, nothing in many rural areas.
I also recommend having a paper map for rural areas of Cork & Kerry as some minor roads just disappear while you are driving along.
Hope this is of help to someone.

I had no problem with RDS-TMC this summer going from St Malo through Normandy and on to Belgium and back.
I was under the impression that it is much more efficient in France than in the UK.
I didn't get any traffic warnings, but neither did I experience any. _________________ TT Go Essential |

How did you set it up? My RDS-TMC worked fine all the way to Calais, but as soon as I landed in France the sidebar vanished and most of the options in the traffic menu were greyed out. I was in France for 4 weeks, and tried various resets etc as recommended by others on this forum. As soon as I got back to Dover it started working again

I didn't set it up, I just pluggeed it in. I don't think there is anything you can set up. _________________ TT Go Essential |

Mine was set up. I went from top to bottom in France and back. It missed ALL the hold ups and gave me false traffic problems. In short, useless. It seem to work better in the UK, just. _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map

I also did not need to set anything up on my 940 Live, just plugged the antenna into the Brodit mount and it was recognized immediately and it worked well when it received a signal.
