I am upgrading to the GO 540 from my GO 710 as i want the LIVE services for traffic etc. I have seen one for £199 at handtec.co.uk. I was just wanting to make sure if the new units still come with latest map garuntee even if not bought directly from TomTom and how long does the garuntee last for as i see they are now doing quarterly updates.
Have been away for a while and just want to say the Pocket GPS is still looking good and am looking forward to logging in again with my new GO540 when i get it.... _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

The Go550 is due to replace the 540 so expect a big drop in price for the 540 in the near future.
The latest map guarantee is valid for 28 days and is valid on any new GO wherever it is purchased but at the moment Live services will only work in the UK for a model made for the UK.
Quarterly map updates are available and the next update if TomTom repeat their update pattern is due in November. _________________ Drivelux |

Also ask yourself if you intend to use the handsfree capability for your mobile phone, if the answer is no then consider the L IQ Live instead, its the same size screen but fits in your pocket easier. Its also a very capable device, were I in the market for a new device I would get the XL IQ Live and spend the difference on a decent car kit for the phone to be honest - Mike |

Yes the USB cable will charge the device, in the car its much quicker to top the battery, when connected to a PC it trickle charges but will atain a full charge after around 5 hours if plugged in to a normal PC USB port - Mike |
