hi,
does the manual make any mention of 3rd party POIs, custom poi's etc?
it would need this feature before even working out what format files it needs!

Hi MaFt,
Spoke to my dealer yesterday and the service manager said that all enquires they have must be with nav tech in Holland, he also said that I could download from the UK website by putting an SD card in the computer and logging on but that does not work. I will call Citroen UK tomorrow and see what I can glean from them. The SM said that once this is all up and running this will be 'the mother of all nav systems'
Regards, themadpanner |

Sounds like the SM doesn't know what he is talking about to be honest, NavTeq are a map provider, the don't actually create navigation applications but they provide electronic maps to software/ hardware suppliers such as Garmin, Route 66, Co-Pilot to name a few.
Can you take a digital picture of the device showing the navigation screen and post it on the forum, or send it to MaFt or myself (use the e-mail button below my post), I can then add it to your post, we should be able to work out what it is running as an application which is a start - Mike |

MyWay, Info is sparse.
Apparently there should be a "database" directory on the unit containing a text (.txt) file and a data file (.lwd)
Cant find any reference to that extension.

According to Filext.com, the .lwd extension was used by a Lotus product - LotusWorks and is a text document. It may be a type of .csv file, since Lotus 1-2-3 used these in spreadsheets.

Hope this helps. _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

I missed that.
I was thinking spreadsheet but MS Excel which usually opens Lotus 123 files cannot read it. Just displays jibberish. |

I to am wondering if my wife's new citroen myway can use speed camera info, todate this is my progress, which I 'think' is correct
Unit Harmon Becker
Card 4gb SHDC
Files all in in a directory called database are
acios_db.ini
Reads '#Hydra
ANY: /database/kN083EUx05t02.DB
ANY: /database/LABEL.DB
ANY: /database/RN831_litdata.DB
ANY: /database/RN831_v36b.gdb
ANY: /database/S_ZF1914_v1.DB
ANY: /database/hazardareas.lwd'
hazardareas.lwd kN083EUx05t02.DB
LABEL.DB
RN831_litdata.DB
RN831_v36b.gdb
S_ZF1914_v1.DB
versionhazard.txt
contains 'name=Europe 2009/2010 Edition 1.0'
versionnavidb.txt
contains 'name=null db'
Have tried viewing the lwd file in Keyview for Lotus unfortunately it is not recognised and as the file has a zero size I think at present it is of little benefit until one knows the format of data that can/needs be entered, if any.
Have searched on 'rn831_v36b' which yielded one result, unfortunately this is a spanish site and my spanish is nil, however using google translate other links were shown which may help.
The search continues...... |

No wonder none of us have seen these units before, not too sure how many of us are driving such high end cars and the two that I do know have Mercs certainly wouldn't spec one with a built in Nav unit as they both know better - Mike |

The latest in my war with Citroen is that after speaking to them, they have spoken to my SM at Tolleys in Colchester and he will be calling me in the next few days to try and get this 5 year old technology (my words) NO FULL POSTCODE INPUT sorted out. To give you an idea TomToms online manuals run to around 97 pages (740 Live) and the beloved 'My Way', just 7 pages of non-information. When something happens I will let you know. Pity, the C3 Picasso is such a terrific car. |

Yesterday I had discussions with a citroen rep following an email I sent, if he is correct i don't think there is going to be a solution any time soon. I have asked him to forward my complaint to higher authority, I will also contact my dealer next week.
I have difficulty in understanding why citroen would choose to instal such an outdated and useless sat nav in a new model vehicle.
Only 4 digit post code
No POI's loader
No speed cameras
To name but 3 major short commings.
Luckily we have a tomtom, which now, we will continue to use! |

Hi
I have the MyWay sat nav in my Citroen C5 and have managed to put speed camera warnings onto the SD card.
There will be a website as of the 15th October www.wipinforadars.fr/ where you will be able to download European warnings for cameras and redlights. The downloads will be €4.99 each and will be updated monthly.
Has anybody on this site looked at getting the database to be loaded onto these systems ? |
