Did you copy the xxx.ov2, xxx.bmp AND the xxx.ogg files? The Sound Files are a separate download to the Camera Files.
If you have the correctly named OGG Files present then you will be asked if this is correct. You can't preview the sound, but must select 'YES'.
You can only type in your own warning if you are using a TTS (computer) voice.
If you could be a bit more specific in describing what you downloaded, it would help immensely to get it working for you. _________________ Richard

Quote: | Im getting into a mess now i have tried to install the files from my documents folder into the device.......everything works except the voice installation instructions....i used to have the bit where you typed the words into but that option is no longer there.......im now worried i may delete the actual Tom Tom programme........i really cant get into this so my thanks for the help it is probably quite easy to most of you but it just doesn't register with me.....possibly too much information or options......i do know a lot of people like me just give up and settle for the bells and trumpets.
Many thanks once again, apart from actually calling round and installing with someone who knows what they are doing i cant see an end to it...Joe |
Sorry. Whilst deleting some spam postings i accidently removed the above. |

Can you tell us which option you would actually prefer to use?
1. the one where you type in your own warning messages, or
2. the one where you use downloaded voice alerts from here.
That will make it easier to give some fuller directions. |

The easiest would be ideal ....if there is some automatic naming of cameras then i could live with that ....as long as it stated there was a type of camera there ...........i originally managed to install the complete programme last year after subscribing.........so i know it does work ......i have now gone back to making the 901 a default installation to make sure the original files are in there.........i have downloaded a database version
7.083 to my documents page......but the ogg files i dont know what they are.......so my installation so far is the 7.083 standard version.....Joe. |

Hi daimlerv8, Others are helping you with your speedcam installation so'll not butt in with that but I've just noticed this - daimlerv8 wrote: | .....i originally managed to install the complete programme last year after subscribing....... |
Does this mean that you only download the safety camera database once a year? If so, you are leaving yourself exposed. The data base is generally updated weekly and your subscription entitles you to download and install every new database as it becomes available.
Sorry if I mis-read your post and you already knew this. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Cazador de Radar ........many thanks for the interest but you wouldnt believe how thick with PC and these Pocket progs i am...........
The guys seem to have me sussed out now, im just a bit ashamed not to be able to do it myself........its down to missing files in the Tom Tom device which i will have to send somewhere for "reflashing" or something like that........i evidently did do it all correct at my first attempt last year after i enrolled but i had a computer crash due to a virus which not even AVG could sort out........i did however have all my details and backups on a remote hard drive......which was connected when the virus hit..........so no backups and i lost a lot of valuable work on my own forum on the hard drive....now the reflashing should sort the Tom Tom out then the pocket gps will be ok to install again..........cheers....Joe |
