Having recently installed your great Speed Camera database after moving from the poor Garmin database I have not travelled up the M42 section until today. I have installed the Liz Whitaker voices but noticed I did not get a warning or an anouncement when approaching the new Gatso variable speed limit cameras around junctions 6, 7 & 8. Having looked at the voices database I see no file for variable speed limit Gatso cameras. Didn't know if this was an oversight or if I had done something wrong. |

Also, could you check the map on the submission page to see if the cameras are in the database. There are some south of the M6 junction that are "dummy" cameras.
These are also still being installed - especially on the M6 itself (which are not live yet as the 50mph specs camera zone is still active).
Alternatively, I see you have a Garmin. Can any experts remember what happens to the warnings when you get to a gatso@0 camera? _________________ Gerry

I have the Garmin Nuvi 670. I was incorrect in saying that no warning is given when approaching these cameras, I do get the ding but no voice warning.
I have not added any other POIs, just transferred speed zone cameras and Liz Whitaker voices. The cameras are shown on the database. I have checked the files uploaded, all the cameras have the relevant info file, bmp and voice file except the Gatso variable cameras which does not have the voice file. I have checked Nicks voice files and they do have a voice file for variable Gatso cameras, so a new camera database has been issued I'll try Nicks voices tonight.
Forgive my ignorance but why do these Gatso cameras have gatso@.... displayed when approaching them as other non-variable types don't? |

You are quite right Pipeliner! I'm amazed you're the first to notice...
I put together the versions for TomTom and it's there on those, but has got missed off on one of the Garmin versions.
The file you're looking for is:
pocketgps_uk_gatso_var.mp3
I just did a test download of both of the two Liz voice sets, and although that file is present in the version with the chime (garmin_chime_liz_w_speedzoned) it is MISSING from the version without a chime (garmin_liz_w_speedzoned).
I assume you are using the version without the chimes at the front?
If so, you can download the missing file for the normal version from my webspace HERE (left click to audition, right click and "save as" to download and save).
I'll get the admin to add it to the downloadable archive too.

I've finally reached this in the ToDo list. I've now added Andy's file to the archive.
Thanks Martyn for spotting it and Andy for correcting it. Sorry it took so long. _________________ Darren Griffin |
